good kids' class ideas


  • hangman
  • bin basketball
  • noughts and crosses
  • a relay 
  • memory games: I've got an aunt.  I've got an aunt and 6 uncles...chain
  • heads, shoulders, knees and toes - stirrer
  • detective/murder
  • bingo - good settler
  • In a circle: My name is Elena.  What's your name?  I'm 34.  How old are you?  My favourite colour is pink.  What's your favourite colour.  Repeat with food/drink.
  • they design a poster with their name, flag, country and their hobbies.
  • elicit alphabet: A,B,C,D - they draw a picture with the first letter D=a picture of a dog.
  • pelmanism
  • they draw on the board, a word beginning with a letter; A for apple etc
  • snowball fight - they write their fav. food on a piece of paper and chuck.  The others pick them up and find out who wrote it by asking questions.  e.g What's your favourite food?
  • with a ball, elicit 'next to, in front of, on, in, behind'.
  • they draw while their partner describes a picture for them to draw.
  • put flashcards around the room and they listen to a song and then have to point when they hear the word of the flashcard.

hands up: when the word is a fruit
hands down: when the word is a vegetable
sit down: when it's a colour

Environment: 
Think of as many geographical features, eg. mountain, lake, etc as you can
Is it important to care about protecting the environment?
In what ways can people damage the environment?
Is there anything we can do to stop this happening?
